I really like this image Lauren. It captures a moment that is quite familiar to me at the moment. One of disquiet contemplation. The composition is really strong - you have used straight lines to frame and box-in your subject. The image seems almost monochrome with the emphasis on the grey, white and black, emphasising the quiet quality of a disquieting moment
I agree with Lindsey, what a great shot Lauren, the composition is very strong and encloses the contemplative moment. What I find really interesting is the placing of the body in the space and the realtionship between the softer shapes of the person in an otherwise linear environment. The arms for example are placed infront and behind the body creating a continuation of the shape which creates an organic flow to the photograph. The shadow is also very effective in adding another element to the image both conceptually and aesthetically suggesting the passing of time.
